
1928
Born in Ceres, California.1938 Interest in photography is sparked after sending in a quarter and a boxtop to get his first camera.
1946-47 While attending college, he works part-time in a portrait studio in Modesto, Ca. and takes pictures for the college paper.
1949-50 Attends Art Center School in Los Angeles where he studies for two years, leaving to join the Edward Kaminski Creative Photo Group.
1951 Drafted into the Army during the Korean War, he is stationed at the Signal Corp. Photo Center in Long Island City, NY where he shoots filmstrips, movie stills and a variety of assignments including coverage of the 1952 Helsinki Olympic Games.
1953-54 After the war, returns to Los Angeles and pursues a freelance career. Receives first big break when he is chosen to go to Egypt with Cecil B. DeMille and his crew to shoot editorial stills on "The Ten Commandments" set.
1963 Begins working for TV Guide, shooting many assignments of TV personalities including Barbara Eden, William Shatner, Marlo Thomas, Joan Collins, etc.
1965 Wins a Grammy award for best album cover for his photograph of Jazz flutist, Paul Horn.
Presently doing freelance work for a variety of publications.
