1925 Born in Sioux City, Iowa.

1938-41 Apprentices at Youngberg Studios while attending school.

1941-43 Works as a darkroom assistant at Chicago Daily Times.

1943-1946 USN Navy Seabees as a photographer.. Photographing Japan as Part of first group in Japan after surrender. Published book of my photographs while in Japan.

1946 Married Nina Salazar and raised 9 children.

1946-1965 General assignment photographer for phoenix Gazette - L.A.Mirror - L.A. Examiner - Herald Examiner and UPI. Photographed Presidents Eisenhower, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Reagan and covered many major news stories during that time. Worked as picture editor for a time and also wrote feature articles. Work appeared in many major newspapers and magazines including Life, Look, Paris Match, London Express, etc.

1965-90 Still photographer in Motion Picture industry. Worked for Universal Studios, Fox Studios, Paramount, NBC, ABC, CBS…

Worked on over 30 feature films and 200 Television movies & series. Did Gallery work at Fox and Universal Studios. Worked for MCA Records photographing various country singers for album covers including Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty.

1990-1996 Worked for the International Photographer’s Guild and Magazine doing portrait and production stills for the guild.

1996 to Date Semi retired working on Archive and writing " Photo Notes ", a collection of thoughts, memories and suggestions for young photographers. Also keeping active doing an occasional gallery session.

Awards: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Hearst National Contest for news, feature and sports photos. 1st place Cal Press Photographers.
