Born in Altoona, PA

1934 Studies photography at Los Angeles City College while his brother, William "Bill" Fraker, was director of still photography at Columbia Studios. Began working part-time in the Columbia still lab.

1935-41 Upon the death of his brother, William, Bud becomes the assistant to William's successor at Columbia, A.L. (Whitey) Schafer, one of Hollywood's foremost photographers. Bud gains experience through assignments, eventually achieving charge of all publicity photography for Columbia Studio.

1942 Leaves Columbia and joins Schafer at Paramount when Schafer became director of still photography. Bud assists in portrait gallery as well as being in charge of publicty photos.

1951-1960 After mastering all elements of portraiture, Fraker succeeds Schafer as director of still photography at Paramount Studio upon Schafer's death. Fraker keeps abreast of photographic techniques, developing new methods as well as adopting those used by other studios.

1960-1978 Leaves Paramount, doing freelance work for other studios while running own photo lab.

2002 Deceased
